This Privacy Policy describes how Wallet-Change (hereinafter "we", "our" or "the Platform") collects, uses, stores and protects users' personal information (hereinafter "you" or "the User") in connection with the use of our mobile application and web services.

We attach the utmost importance to protecting your personal data and respecting your privacy. By using the Wallet-Change application, you accept the practices described in this policy.

1. Personal data collected

In order to operate our change-management and micro-transfer services, we collect only the strictly necessary information:

  • Identification information: First name, last name and mobile phone number associated with your account.
  • Transaction data: History of amounts transferred, received, topped up or withdrawn, as well as the date, time and identifier of the parties involved (merchants or users).
  • Technical and device data: IP address, mobile device model, operating system version and unique device identifiers (required for session security and sending push notifications).
  • Support contact data: The exchanges and messages sent when you contact our customer service.

2. Use of your data

Your personal data is processed exclusively for the following purposes:

  • Service provision: Creating your account, validating your transactions, updating your balance in real time and displaying your operation history.
  • Security and fraud prevention: Authenticating your access (PIN / SMS code), detecting suspicious behavior and combating misuse of the service.
  • Communication and Notifications: Sending you SMS or transaction confirmation notifications (through our messaging providers), as well as important security alerts.
  • Service improvement: Analyzing application usage in an aggregated and anonymized manner in order to optimize its performance and usability.

3. Sharing data with third parties

We do NOT sell, rent or market ANY of your personal data to third parties.

Your data may be shared only in the following strictly limited cases:

  • Technical and financial partners (Payment aggregators): To carry out a top-up or withdrawal to your Mobile Money account, certain transaction data is securely transmitted to our authorized partner (Campay) as well as to mobile network operators (Orange Money, MTN Mobile Money).
  • Communication providers (SMS): Your phone number and the text of the confirmation message are transmitted to our SMS delivery partner (Africa's Talking) for the sole purpose of delivering your validation codes and operation receipts.
  • Legal obligations: In the event of a court order or legal obligation from the competent regulatory or judicial authorities in Cameroon.

4. Data security and storage

We implement rigorous technical and organizational security measures to protect your data against any unauthorized access, loss, alteration or disclosure:

  • Encryption: All communications between your mobile application and our servers are secured and encrypted via the HTTPS / SSL protocol.
  • Passwords and PIN codes: Your confidential access codes are hashed and stored securely in our databases. No Wallet-Change employee can read your PIN in plain text.
  • Hosting: Our servers and databases are hosted on highly secure cloud infrastructure (Microsoft Azure) that complies with international security standards.

5. Data retention

Your personal data is kept for the entire duration your Wallet-Change account is active. If the account is closed, certain data relating to your transaction history will be securely archived for the legal period required by the applicable financial regulations before being permanently deleted.

6. Your rights regarding your data

In accordance with personal data protection regulations, you have the following rights:

  • Right of access and consultation: You can view your personal information and your entire transaction history at any time directly from the application.
  • Right of rectification: You can request the update or correction of inaccurate information by contacting customer support.
  • Right to account deletion: You can request the closure of your account and the deletion of your personal data, provided that no disputed transaction or remaining balance is being processed.

7. Changes to the Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time to reflect legal, technical or operational changes to our services. Any change will be subject to prior notice in the application.
